Configuring the Lenovo Power Manager

These settings are recommended to alleviate the user from the annoying LCD dimming and sleep-mode side-effects.

 

Left click once on the green battery that is located on the task bar at the bottom. This opens the Power Manager console.

On the upper right hand side of the you will find 'Switch to". If it says 'Basic", click on it.  This will change 'Basic' to 'Advance'. If it already says 'Advance' then you are fine.

Continue to stay on the Power Manager Console.

Continue to stay on the Power Manager Console.

Continue to stay on the Power Manager Console.      

Then click 'OK' at the bottom of the Power Manager screen to close the Power Manger console.                                   

 

Other Recommendations:

 

To slightly increase the brightness of the Lenovo X201 display:

 It is recommended that you adjust the brightness to the minimal that you require. This will ensure the longest battery life.

Click once on white battery that is located by the clock.

Click on 'Adjust screen brightness'.

On the bottom of the screen you  maadjust the brightness, by moving the 'Screen brightness' slide. It is recommended that you use the setting of 6 or 7.y

You can also temporarily adjust the brightness by holding down the blue 'Fn' key and tapping the 'Home' or 'End' key.

 

To adjust the screen dimming timing:

Click once on white battery that is located by the clock.

Click on Adjust screen brightness

Under  'Select a power plan', choose 'Change plan settings' that is to the right of MDHS.

It is recommended to increase the time of when the display should dim while on battery to 1 hour.

It is recommended to increase the time of when the display should turn off on battery to 2 hours.

 

To reduce the 'Resolve PC issues' notifications:

 Down by the clock find the white flag with the red 'x' through it. Click it once. Choose 'Open Action Center'

On the upper left hand side of the screen choose 'Change Action Center' settings.

It is recommended that you uncheck everything, except for 'Windows Update'.
