SUMMER CAMPS FOR ALL AGES

Note-Taking and Organization

Instructorr: Ms. Terri Willox

Participants will learn the basic techniques of organizing schoolwork in both traditional notebooks/binders/folders and electronically in MS Word, Word Perfect, and/or Google documents. They will also learn/review methods of effective note taking, including outlining, highlighting, and taking notes from lectures. This program will also include a short discussion concerning time management for junior high school and high school students.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

• notebook,
• pen or pencil,
• highlighter (preferably yellow, but definitely a light color),
• pack of index cards (should be lined on one side: preferably 4 in. x 6 in.)
• 3-ring binder or a folder to store hand-outs
• Any student wishing to also learn how to apply these skills using a laptop notebook computer is welcome to bring it to meetings.
