Dear Parents:
Enclosed please find important information regarding the
2010-2011 school year.
We look forward to a great learning experience for all! During
Orientation Week, students will report to school as follows:
Wednesday, September 1
Grade 9 ONLY – Early Dismissal
Thursday & Friday, September 2 & 3
All Students – Full Day
Parents are required to purchase textbooks through
http://www.mondonhs.bkstr.com. During orientation week, students will receive
their State Aid textbooks.
Students may also purchase school supplies from Donovan’s Den, which accepts
cash, checks, and Visa or Master Card. Students who plan to use
credit cards, will
need signed parental notes.

There are many
important forms on the Monsignor Donovan web site (www.mondonhs.com
– Important Forms and Information) that
must be downloaded and completed.
STUDENTS MUST RETURN COMPLETED FORMS ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.
Before
school begins, you will receive in the mail, additional back-to-school
information including the annual Calendar/
Parent/Student
Handbook and medical emergency cards.
Bus passes will be sent directly from your school district.
If you have any questions, summer
office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 NOON.

THE SCHOOL STORE - “DONOVAN’S DEN”
will
reopen on Wednesday, August 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm,
on Tuesday, August 24th
from 6:00-8:00pm to 12 noon and
Wednesday, August 25 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Remember
– the school store accepts Visa and Master Card! ! !
On Wednesday, September 22nd
(“Meet the Teachers Night”), the school store will offer a 10% sale on clothing.
The sale will be held all day and during the evening.
Golf shirts, gym clothes, school sweaters and fleece and ties are
available ONLY in the Den.
Plaid uniform skirt/kilt for girls
MUST
be purchased at Flynn & O’Hara.
Boys khaki dress pants, white oxford or blue shirts may also be purchased
at Flynn & O’Hara or at any local department store.
UNIFORMS:
Students and parents must check the
Parent/Student Handbook for
appropriate dress code. Appropriate
uniform skirt length requires that the top of the hem must touch the top
of the kneecap. When hemming,
please keep in mind the possibility of growth during the year.
Excessive
makeup, accessorizing or body piercing are not permitted.
ATTENDANCE:
Parents and students should read and discuss the Attendance Policy
published in the Parent/Student Handbook.
Parents of students who are unable to attend school
must call and leave a message with
the Attendance Office at 732-349-8801
Ext. 2407 between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30
a.m. of the morning in question.
STUDENT
IDENTIFICATION CARDS:
All students will retain their ID Cards from the previous year and will
be expected to wear them to school on the first day. Student ID Cards
are part of the uniform. Incoming freshmen will receive their ID
Cards during the first week of school. There will be a $10.00 charge
for replacement IDs.
CAFETERIA:
We are please to announce our new food service company, “FLIK
Independents School Services.” The lunch program will begin on
Wednesday, September 1st . The cafeteria staff provides a “heart
healthy” lunch daily. We encourage all parents to take advantage of our Point of
Sale program. Parents have the ability to fund their child’s debit account and
monitor their lunch purchases on-line at
www.payforit.net. This secure web-site allows parents to use their
credit cards to either manually or automatically replenish their child’s lunch
account. Please visit the web site for more information.

to make required book purchases for the year.
Required books will be listed by course.
Only those
courses that require purchased books are listed.
For all
classes, required books MUST be brought in to school on the first
day of class.
