 Honors Program

 

 

Entering freshmen identified as academically talented and highly motivated are invited to join the MDHS Honors Program. To be eligible, a student should have maintained an "A" average in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, and should have achieved standaridized test scores above the 85th percentile.

To remain in the Honors Program, students must maintain an 85% final average or better in all courses.

 

Veritas

Freshman students who qualify on the basis of their High School Placement Test results are invited to participate in the Veritas program for the academically gifted. This four-year program is designed to nurture the full academic potential of these students.

During junior and senior years, Veritas students should choose at least two or three courses from the following list of Advanced Placement and College Level courses:

Veritas is the search for truth and forms the framework of the Dominican tradition.
 

MDHS encourages Honors and Veritas students to round out their curriculum studies by taking part in service projects, the fine and performing arts, and clubs such as the Math and Science Leagues, Law Club, and Academic Challenge.
