Aeneas’s Journey

Hero of the great Roman legend,

Aeneas led his crew and sailed the seas.

Fulfilling a destiny set by the gods,

His journey did not come with ease.

Since Aeneas was hated by Juno,

A storm was sent to make things tougher.

The violent winds and the crashing waves

Only made Aeneas suffer.

He landed on the shore of Carthage,

Where Dido loved him at first sight.

Burning with a flame of love,

Being together gave them delight.

But destiny halted the romance,

As Aeneas knew that he must leave.

Fate was calling him elsewhere,

There was something he had to achieve.

Aeneas landed on the coast of Italy,

And met his father in the underworld.

He said Rome would reach a Golden Age,

And the hero’s destiny was unfurled.

A battle soon broke out in Italy,

The Trojans and Latins fought intense.

With Lavinia’s hand and power at stake,

The forces and armies were immense.

Aeneas engages in the final battle,

A fight with Turnus one on one.

Aeneas stabbed the Latin right in the heart,

And in fulfilling his destiny, Aeneas won.
